How we use and protect information when you visit the website, sign in to the Shop, or play on the Charzoid Project Zomboid server.
This policy applies to charzoid.charmi.es, its Shop and Admin areas, and the connected Charzoid Project Zomboid community server. Charmi L.L.C. is the controller for the website and community-server records described here.
For privacy questions or to exercise a right, contact the server administrator through the official Charzoid Discord community. Include your server username and enough detail to identify the relevant account; never send your game password or Steam password.
We process this information only as needed to operate the community and website:
Depending on the activity, the legal basis is performance of the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing a private community server, compliance with legal obligations, or consent where the law requires it. We do not use this data for advertising, sell it, or make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects through automated profiling.
We disclose only what is needed to service providers and integrations that operate Charzoid: Cloudflare for protected web delivery and tunnelling; Steam/Valve for OpenID, profiles, game and Workshop information; Discord for configured community notifications; and Google Fonts and jsDelivr for browser-delivered visual assets. Those providers process technical requests under their own terms and may operate outside the EEA using the safeguards available to them.
Authorized server administrators can access account, moderation, economy, configuration, backup, and audit information according to their duties. Player information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect users, the service, or legal rights.
Player and economy records are kept while the account and community service remain active and for a reasonable period needed for integrity, disputes, security, and recovery. Player sessions expire after one year, Admin sessions after one week, and Steam state after ten minutes. Operational logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed; rolling backup storage is limited by the server's configured retention, currently the latest three backups. Deletion from active systems may take additional time to age out of protected backups.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority, including the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) when it is your competent authority.
We may need to verify your Steam or game-account identity before acting on a request. Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, disputes, or the rights of other players.
We use access controls, hashed credentials, opaque sessions, HTTPS-only production cookies, rate limits, audit logging, restricted administrator roles, and backups. No online service can promise absolute security, so report suspected account or data incidents promptly through the official Charzoid Discord.
The service is not directed to children below the minimum age required by applicable law and the Steam/Project Zomboid services they use. A parent or guardian must authorize use where local law requires it.
We may update this policy when the website, game server, integrations, or law changes. Material revisions will receive a new date and may be announced through the website, Discord, or in-game notices.
CHARZOID / COMMUNITY AGREEMENT
The rules for using this website, the survivor Shop, and the Charzoid Project Zomboid community server.
By visiting the website, creating or using a server account, signing in through Steam, using the Shop, or joining Charzoid, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website or server.
You must meet the minimum age and account requirements imposed by applicable law, Steam, and Project Zomboid. Where required, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
Keep your game and Steam credentials secure. You are responsible for activity through your account unless you promptly report unauthorized use. Do not share, sell, impersonate, or evade restrictions through another account. Account names and profile images must not violate another person's rights or the community rules.
Server-specific rules may be clarified through the website, Discord, or in-game announcements. A clarification cannot remove mandatory rights granted by law.
KX is a closed, fictional reward balance earned or granted for use only on Charzoid. It is not money, cryptocurrency, stored value, or property; it has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, and is not redeemable outside this server. Unless a feature expressly allows it, KX and items are not transferable.
Character playtime and survival determine tier progression. Death, a character reset, a world reset, corrections, abuse prevention, or technical reconciliation may reset or adjust character-based progression and balances where the system rules require it. Administrators may correct mistaken, exploited, duplicated, or fraudulent entries with an audit record.
Stock, prices, limits, rotation, categories, availability, and delivery rules can change. A purchase is complete only when the service confirms it. Items, vehicles, gifts, and Taxi services may require the intended survivor to be online, in a safe location, or otherwise eligible. Failed deliveries may be retried, replaced, reversed, or refunded in KX at the administrator's reasonable discretion.
Virtual items and vehicles remain governed by game mechanics, mods, wipes, death, damage, theft, decay, and server rules after delivery. They are not guaranteed to survive a character death, rollback, mod removal, or world reset.
Administrators may warn, remove content, correct balances, reverse deliveries, kick, temporarily restrict, ban, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to enforce rules, protect players or systems, investigate abuse, comply with law, or keep the community playable. Serious security abuse may result in immediate action.
Moderation actions and reasons may be logged. You may ask for a review through the official Charzoid Discord, but access may remain restricted during review and there is no guarantee that a discretionary community-server sanction will be reversed.
Charzoid is an experimental, modded Project Zomboid server, including unstable game builds and third-party Workshop content. Updates may break compatibility, remove items, alter saves, require restarts, or force mod/world changes. You may need to install or update Workshop content to connect.
The website and server are provided on an as-available basis. Maintenance, automatic updates, attacks, power or network failures, software defects, and provider outages can interrupt access. We aim to keep backups and recover service, but no backup, uptime, character, inventory, world state, delivery, or historical record is guaranteed.
We may change, pause, reset, migrate, or discontinue features or the server when reasonably needed. Where practical, significant planned changes will be announced through the website, Discord, or in game.
Charzoid's original website design, code, branding, and community materials belong to their respective owners or licensors. Project Zomboid, its game assets, and related marks belong to The Indie Stone or their licensors; Steam and Workshop belong to Valve or their licensors; mod content belongs to its creators. Charzoid is an independent community project and is not endorsed by or affiliated with The Indie Stone or Valve.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible, secure, or fit for a particular gameplay outcome. Charmi L.L.C. is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from voluntary use of this free community service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or consumer, privacy, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
These Terms and disputes are governed by the law that applies to the operator and user, including mandatory consumer protections. Before formal proceedings, please contact an administrator through the official Charzoid Discord so the issue can be reviewed in good faith. Competent courts and authorities remain available as required by law.
We may update these Terms to reflect service, rule, security, or legal changes. The updated date will change, and material revisions may be announced. Continuing to use the service after revised Terms take effect means you accept them, except where applicable law requires another form of consent.
If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. Failure to enforce a provision once is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and posted server rules form the agreement for this community service. Questions should be sent to the server administrator through the official Charzoid Discord.
